BUHL | Ottis D. Hitt, age 86, of Buhl, passed away March 27, 2015, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015, at Buhl Baptist Church with Albert Lyles and Alfred Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Cornelius Baptist Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, A Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Minnie Hitt; brothers, Clarence and Howard Hitt; and sister, Sara Nell Galloway.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Minnie Hitt; brothers, Clarence and Howard Hitt; and sister, Sara Nell Galloway.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Hitt; daughters, Shirley Adcox (David), Kathy Hitt, and Debra Hitt; son, Terry Hitt; grandchildren, Scottie Adcox (Cherry), Kevin Adcox (Charlotte), and Tyler Hitt; great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Emily, and Alyssa Adcox.
Ottis was born in Echola, Ala., on August 21, 1928. He married Lois Skelton on April 26, 1957. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved spending time gardening, hunting, and riding his four-wheeler.
Pallbearers will be Scottie Adcox, Kevin Adcox, Tyler Hitt, Marc Hitt, Mike Skelton, and David Skelton.
Honorary pallbearers are the staff at Hunter Creek Health & Rehab, Dr. Moore, Dr. Larry Skelton, Billy Wayne Skelton, Wayne Hitt, Curtis Jones, Jo Cooper, Larry Latham, friends and family from the communities of Buhl and Echola, Amanda Brown, who he loved like his granddaughter, and the DCH nurse staff of 2nd floor.
