She was preceded in death by her husband, WS Gilliam; husband; James Thelton Long; sons, Calvin Ray Gilliam and Jerry Lynn Gilliam; parents, Coleman Campbell, Sr. and Stella Mae Moore Campbell; and sister, Kathleen Campbell Nix.
Survivors include her daughters, Pam Gilliam (Mike), Rhonda Gilliam, Sheila Gilliam (Virgil), Brenda Hayworth, Carol Crawford (David) and Sue Ledbetter (Chris); sons, Rodney Gilliam, Todd Gilliam (Missy), Kenny Gilliam and Terry Long (Carol); brother, Coleman Campbell, Jr. (Betty); nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mother was a very loving, strong willed, forgiving and hard working person. First picking cotton on Gilliam Hill at the age of 14 and continued working both in and outside the home throughout her life. She did not believe in hand-me-outs or getting something for nothing. She believed if a person was able to work they should work.
Mother loved her family and church. She loved cooking and feeding many hungry mouths in her lifetime. All of her children are blessed and thankful to have received such love and teaching as they received from Momma Bob.
Pallbearers will be Terry Long, Robbie Gilliam, David Olmstead, T. R. Collins, Nicholas Doremus and Calvin Doremus.
Honorary pallbearers are friends, neighbors and fellow church members of New Hope Baptist Church and community.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Boone Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 176, Samantha, AL 35482.
